Isaiah 24 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 24.

Meditate on verses 21-23.

So, it will happen in that day, that the LORD will

punish the host of heaven on high and

the kings of the earth on earth.  They will be

gathered together, like prisoners in the

dungeon, and will be confined in prison, and

after many days, they will be punished.

Then the moon will be abashed and the sun

ashamed, for the LORD of hosts will reign

on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and

His glory will be before His elders.

Isaiah 24 gives a vivid description of God’s coming judgment on those who do not know Him as LORD and Savior.  Prior to Christ’s return, the earth is polluted and devoured by a curse because of its inhabitants (vs. 5-6).  The LORD promises to completely despoil the earth, scatter its inhabitants, and not give preferential treatment to anyone because of their former rank or status (vs. 1-4).  God will put an end to the world’s party and fill the earth with songs glorifying the Righteous One (vs. 7-16).

Do you see any of Isaiah 24 starting to take place?  What a great chapter to share with people about the coming day of the LORD!  The only way to escape His wrath is through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pray Isaiah 24:16a over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, on that day, let ______ and

me be singing this song:

‘Glory to the Righteous One.’

In Your name, Jesus~”
