Please read Isaiah 2.

Meditate on verses 11-12.
The proud look of man will be abased, and
the loftiness of man will be
humbled, and the LORD alone will be exalted
in that day. For the LORD of
hosts will have a day of reckoning
against everyone who is proud and
lofty and against everyone who is
lifted up, that he may be abased.
The day of the LORD, the day of reckoning, the day when those who did not choose to apply the sacrifice of Christ as payment for their sins, will pay the consequences with eternal separation from God. Isaiah sets the stage in this chapter for why we need a Savior in order to escape God’s day of reckoning.
The people in Isaiah’s day were consumed with themselves, being influenced by the world instead of God. They had lots of stuff, and they worshiped their accomplishments instead of worshiping God. It is amazing how things have not changed in 2,700 years!
Verses 19-20 say men will go into caves and holes in the ground. They would rather hang out with moles and bats than humble themselves before God. Pride drives people to pathetic places.
God promises a day of reckoning against the proud, lofty, and lifted up (v. 12). Only those who are saved through faith in Jesus Christ will be reckoned as righteous on that day.
Pray Isaiah 2:5, 11, and 22 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, let _________ and me walk in Your light.
Abase our proud look and humble
our loftiness. LORD, You alone be exalted
in our lives. Let us stop regarding and
esteeming man, whose breath is in his nostrils.
LORD, we regard and esteem You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
