Isaiah 19 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 19.

Meditate on verses 16 and 19.

In that day the Egyptians will become like

women, and they will tremble and

be in dread because of the waving of the

hand of the LORD of hosts, which He

is going to wave over them.  In that day

there will be an altar to the LORD

in the midst of the land of Egypt, and

a pillar to the LORD near its border.

The LORD is burdened for Egypt, so burdened He dries up their water, removes their crops, fish, and manufacturing, and makes their leaders and wisest men stupid fools (vs. 5-11).  God removes everything and everyone the Egyptians depend on, so they will depend on Him.

God has ways of getting our attention, doesn’t He?  What is He doing in our world right now to get our attention?

2,700 years ago, God spoke about a day when Egypt would need a Savior and a Champion to deliver them (v. 20).  That day has come for Egypt and the rest of the world.  Does the LORD have your attention?

Pray Isaiah 19:20-22 and 24 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, I cry to You because of our oppressors!

 _________ and I need a Savior and a Champion.

We need You to deliver us.  LORD, make Yourself

known to us, so we will know You in that day.

 We worship You with sacrifice and offering;

we make a vow to You and perform it.

LORD, You are striking but healing us,

so we will return to You.

LORD, please respond to us and heal us!

LORD, make us a blessing in the midst of the earth.

In Your Name, Jesus~”
