Isaiah 11 - Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 11.

Meditate on verses 10-11.

Then in that day, the nations will resort to the root of

Jesse, who will stand as a signal for the peoples,

and His resting place will be glorious.

Then it will happen on that day, that the LORD will

again recover the second time with His hand

the remnant of His people who will remain from

Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar,

Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Isaiah 11 describes Jesus (vs. 1-5) and what the world will be like under His rule (vs. 6-16). Christ will reign in righteousness, His unshakeable Kingdom characterized by peace.  Israel will be recovered by the LORD’s hand, and the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD.  What a glorious day that will be!

As you wait for that day, the day of Christ’s return, you are to become more like Him.  Think about His characteristics from verse 2.  Ask the LORD to increase in you: wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge, and the fear of Him, praying Isaiah 11:2 and 9 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let Your Spirit rest on _________ and me, the

spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the spirit of counsel and strength, the

spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

The earth will be full of the knowledge of You.

Please fill us with that knowledge.

In Your Name, Jesus~”
