Song of Deborah and Barak
Meditate on verse 13b.

The people of the LORD came down to me as warriors.

Deborah and Barak sang this song after God gave the Israelites victory over the Canaanites who had severely oppressed them for 20 years (Judges 4:1-3). It declares victory in so many areas of their lives. After 20 years of doing evil in the sight of the LORD and being punished severely for it, finally:

·      the leaders led in Israel (v. 2).
·      the people volunteered (v. 2).
·      the people of the LORD showed up to fight as warriors (v. 13).
·      there were great resolves of heart (v. 15).
·      there were great searchings of heart (v. 16).

Do not stop praying for those you love to finally follow Christ. Pray for your leaders to lead and be Godly. Pray for God’s people to volunteer. Pray for the people of the LORD to fight as warriors. Pray for God’s people to search their hearts and resolve to do what’s right in His sight.

Pray Judges 5:31 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“O LORD, let all Your enemies perish,
but let those who love You be
like the rising of the sun in its might.
Please let our land be undisturbed.
In Your name, Jesus~”
