Psalm 132 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 132.

Meditate on verse 1.

Remember, O LORD, on David’s behalf, all his affliction.

As the psalmist took the last few steps upward, he remembered David and his affliction (v. 1). He recalled David’s tenacity to make certain the house of God was built (vs. 2-5). The psalmist saw the fulfillment of David’s dream as he had the privilege to enter the temple along with the priests and the ark of God (vs. 7-9).
Seeing a vision fulfilled is glorious! However, it is not an easy journey.   As you ascend toward the goal, remember faithful ones who persevered on their ascension journeys and be encouraged as you step upward with Christ. Beware of persecutors along the way and your own temptation to sin (Psalm 120; 129-130). Fix your eyes on the LORD and His vision for you (Psalm 121). Approach the climb as a faithful servant, keeping your eyes on the hands of the Master (Psalm 123). Trust the LORD for every step of the way (Psalm 125).
Pray Psalm 132:9-10 and 16 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, make _________ and me Your priests;
clothe us with Your righteousness.
Make us Your Godly ones; let us sing for joy.
 Make us Your servants, Your anointed ones;
do not let our faces turn from You.
As Your priests, clothe us with salvation,
 and as Your Godly ones, let us sing aloud for joy.
Because of Your name, Jesus~”
