Psalm 148 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 148.

Meditate on verses 12-13.

Both young men and virgins, old men and children,
 let them praise the name of the LORD,
 for His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above earth and heaven.

Psalm 147 told you why you praise the LORD. Today’s psalm tells you who is to praise him—everything in the heavens, and everything and everyone on the earth. Every created person, animal, and thing is to praise the Creator. Interestingly, scientists have learned that planets and stars do actually emit sounds. Here is one of many websites where you can actually listen to planets praising the LORD: http://canyouactually.com/nasa-actually-recorded-sound-in-space-and-its-absolutely-chilling/

Jesus even said that if the people didn’t cry out in praise of Him, the rocks would (Luke 19:40). Praise the LORD with Psalm 148 as His faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“Praise the LORD!  LORD, You are to be praised
 from the heavens and in the heights.
May all Your angels praise You.  May all Your hosts praise You.
 May the sun and moon praise You.  May all the stars of light praise You.
  May the highest heavens and the waters that are above the heavens praise You!
Let them praise Your name, LORD, for You commanded
 and they were created.  You also established them forever and ever;
You made a decree which will not pass away.
LORD, You are to be praised from the earth.
 Sea monsters and all deeps are to praise You.
Fire and hail, snow and clouds, stormy wind, fulfilling Your Word;
mountains and all hills; fruit trees and all cedars;
 beasts and all cattle; creeping things and winged fowl;
kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth;
 both young men and virgins; old men and children,
 let them praise Your name, LORD, for Your name alone is exalted;
Your glory is above earth and heaven.  You have lifted up
a horn for Your people, praise for all Your Godly ones,
 even for the sons of Israel, a people near to You.
Praise the LORD!”
