Meditate on verse 1.
Praise the LORD! For it is good
to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and praise is becoming.
It is proper and fitting to praise the LORD, and this psalm
tells you why. Praise the LORD with
Psalm 147, telling Him why He alone is worthy of your praise.
“Praise the LORD! It is good to
sing praises to You, God.
It is pleasant, and praise is becoming,
so let __________ and me praise
You forever.
LORD, You build up Jerusalem;
You gather the outcasts of Israel.
You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.
You count the number of the stars;
You give names to all of them.
Great are You, LORD, and
abundant in strength.
Your understanding is infinite.
LORD, You support the
afflicted;
You bring the wicked down to the ground.
We sing to You with thanksgiving;
we sing praises on the lyre.
You cover the heavens with clouds;
You provide rain for the earth
and make grass grow on the
mountains.
You give to the beast its food
and to the young ravens which cry.
You do not delight in the
strength of the horse;
You do not take pleasure in the legs of a man.
LORD, You favor those who fear
You,
those who wait for Your lovingkindness.
LORD, let that be our
family!
May Jerusalem and Zion praise You.
Strengthen the bars of their
gates
and bless their sons within them.
Make peace in their borders
and satisfy them with the finest
of wheat.
You send forth Your command to
the earth.
Your Word runs very swiftly.
You give snow like wool.
You scatter the frost like ashes.
You cast forth Your ice as
fragments;
who can stand before Your
cold?
You send forth Your Word and melt them;
You cause Your wind to blow and the waters to flow.
You declare Your Words to Jacob,
Your statutes and Your
ordinances to Israel and to us.
Praise the LORD!”
