Psalm 131 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 131.

Meditate on verse 2.

Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child rests against
 his mother, my soul is like a weaned child within me.

Psalm 131 is a sigh of relief. After dealing with bad guys, persecution, and personal sin, the psalmist ascends to the step of realization. Those things are part of living in a fallen world, and rather than get all huffy or defensive or anguished over so many difficulties, he simply rests in God.

“Come to Me, all who are weary
and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28

Perhaps you, too, are tired of dealing with the bombardments of a sin- riddled world. Snuggle into the Savior and let Him deal with things too difficult for you, which will probably be everything.
As you abide with Jesus, pray Psalm 131 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“O LORD, my heart is not proud,
nor my eyes haughty;
nor do I involve myself in great matters,
 or in things too difficult for me.
Surely I have composed and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child rests against his mother,
my soul is like a weaned child within me.
O LORD, I will hope in You
 from this time forth and forever.
O LORD, let Israel hope in You
from this time forth and forever.
O LORD, let _________ hope in You
 from this time forth and forever.
Because You are our only hope, Jesus~”
