2 Kings 9 - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Kings 9.

Meditate on verse 20.

The watchman reported, “He came even to them,
 and he did not return;
 and the driving is like the driving of Jehu
 the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”

Have you ever said, “He drives like a wild Jehu (yay-hoo)”? Now you know from where the saying comes—this incredible passage of Scripture! This chapter proves that the Bible is definitely not boring.
It also gives you some interesting verses to pray; such as: “LORD, please stop        from being an evil Jezebel, so the dogs do not eat their flesh and they become dung on the face of the earth” (vs. 36-37).
Perhaps you really do have people in your life who need verses 36-37 prayed over them. It’s wonderful that God’s Word can be applied to every situation imaginable!
You might also choose to pray 2 Kings 9:6, asking the LORD to anoint (set apart, dedicate) you and those you love for His purposes. Pray these words because He has anointed you to be a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let ________ and me hear You speak these words over us:
‘Thus says the LORD, “I have anointed you to ….”’
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
