Meditate on this phrase from verse 13.
Wash and be clean.
Leprous Naaman was given the miraculous opportunity to be cured of his terrible disease. The instructions from Elisha were simple: “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you, and you will be clean” (v. 10). At first, Naaman furiously rebelled, but thankfully, he had a change of heart and mind, and the healing hand of God touched and restored him.
Naaman’s cleansing is a picture of your salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds
which we have done in righteousness,
but according to His mercy,
by the washing of regeneration
and renewing by the Holy Spirit.
—Titus 3:5
There are people in your life who need to accept God’s invitation to “wash and be clean,” so they can experience the miraculous restoration of the Holy Spirit. Pray for them, using the words from 2 Kings 5:13-14, as their faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, please let __________ want to be washed
and cleaned by You. Let them obey
according to Your Word.
Restore them and make them clean.
In Your name, Jesus~”
