2 Kings 4 - Praying God's Word

Meditate on verse 44.

So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over,

 according to the Word of the LORD.

Notice the five miracles in 2 Kings 4 and how they foreshadow Christ and what He does in your life.

o   The Miracle of the Oil – God gives the Holy Spirit without measure and pours His love into hearts of Christians (John 3:34; Romans 5:5).

o   The Miracle of a Son – “Behold the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son” (Matthew 1:23).

o   The Miracle of Resurrection – Jesus said to her, “I AM the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25).

o   The Miracle of Removing Death from the Pot – “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? Thanks be to  God, who gives us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:55, 57).

o   The Miracle of the Bread of the First Fruits – Jesus said, “I AM the living bread that came down out of heaven.” “In Christ, all will be made alive, but each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming” (John 6:51; 1 Corinthians 15:22-23).

Pray 2 Kings 4:42 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are the Bread of the first fruits. 

Thank You for giving Yourself to ________ and

 me to eat in order to live in You.

For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
