2 Kings 7 - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Kings 6:32-7:20.
Meditate on 2 Kings 6:33-7:1.

While he was still talking with them, behold,
the messenger came down to him and he said,
 "Behold, this evil is from the LORD;
why should I wait for the LORD any longer?"
 Then Elisha said, "Listen to the word of the LORD;
thus says the LORD, 'Tomorrow about this time a measure
 of fine flour will be sold for a shekel,
and two measures of barley for a
 shekel, in the gate of Samaria.'"

Talk about a hopeless situation! The people of Samaria were in a horrible place; so horrible, they were boiling and eating their children in order to survive (2 Kings 6:28-29). No wonder the messenger for King Jehoram questioned why he should wait any longer for the LORD to intervene. The LORD answered with, “Tomorrow…” (v. 1). Only God knows what will happen tomorrow, and for the Israelites, He was going to do the impossible on their behalf.
Do you feel like no longer waiting for the LORD? Do things appear hopeless? Be encouraged by what God did for the Israelites and never doubt what He can do for you and those you love. Be honest with the LORD about your concerns and hear Him whisper into your ear, “Tomorrow….”
Pray 2 Kings 7:1-2 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help __________ and me listen to Your Word.
We will hear what You say about tomorrow.
 We know You can make windows
 in heaven open on our behalf.
  LORD, we want to see it with our own eyes
and eat from Your heavenly provision.
For the glory of Your name, Jesus~”
