Meditate on and memorize verse 97.
O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
The psalmist loved God’s Word so much he thought about it all day long. Pondering Scripture, gave him greater understanding than his teachers because it was the LORD Himself teaching him—amazing!
What do you think about all day long? As you love God’s Word more and more, it will be your desire to dwell on it more and more. Soon you will find yourself repeating God’s Words over and over in your mind, miraculously replacing negative thoughts and vain imaginations, thus taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Thank the LORD for giving you His Words and pray the ones from Psalm 119:97-104 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“O LORD, how I love Your law! Please let ______ love it, too.
May it be our meditation all the day. Let Your commandments
make us wiser than our enemies, for they are ever ours.
Give us more insight than all our teachers for
Your testimonies are our meditation. May we understand
more than the aged because we have observed Your precepts.
Help us restrain our feet from every evil way,
that we may keep Your Word. Please teach us Yourself, LORD.
Do not let us turn aside from Your ordinances.
How sweet are Your Words to our taste!
Yes, sweeter than honey to our mouths!
From Your precepts we get understanding;
therefore, we hate every false way.
In Your name, Jesus~”
