Please read Psalm 119:145-152.

Meditate on and memorize verse 147.

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I wait for Your Words.

What do you do in the midst of crises when you awaken in the predawn hours because worries race around in your head like a killer tornado?  Instead of staying in bed and rehearsing your heart’s cares, get up and move to a comfortable chair; open your Bible and start reading.  Let the healing salve of God’s Words coat your heart and mind.  Miraculously your heart will stop racing, and the mind of Christ will take control of your storm.  God’s Words will revive you and give you the wisdom you need to make it through the day.

The psalmist knew help came from the Word of the LORD.  He even looked forward to the night watches, for those times gave him more opportunities to meditate on Scripture.

Pray Psalm 119:145-152 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“I cried with all my heart; answer me, O LORD!
I will observe Your statutes.  I cried to You; save me,
and I shall keep Your testimonies.  I rise before dawn
and cry for help; I wait for Your Words.
My eyes anticipate the night watches that I may
meditate on Your Word.  Hear my voice according to Your
lovingkindness; revive me, O LORD, according to Your ordinances.
Those who follow after wickedness draw near; they are far
from Your law.  LORD, protect ________ and me from wickedness!
You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are truth.
Of old I have known from Your testimonies
that You have founded them forever.
Thank You, LORD Jesus~”
