Psalm 119:9-16 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 119:9-16.

Meditate on and memorize verse 11.

Your Word I have treasured in my heart
that I may not sin against You.

Is there anything in your life that you do wholeheartedly? Perhaps it’s your job, sport, or hobby.  What about your LORD?  Do you wholeheartedly pursue God and His desires?

The psalmist learned that pursuing God and His Word kept him from sinning.   Wholeheartedly keeping and treasuring God’s commands kept him from wandering off God’s path for his life.

Ask the LORD to search your heart and reveal things you treasure more than Him.  Ask Him to teach you His statutes and pray Psalm 119:9-16 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help _________ and me keep our way pure by
keeping it according to Your Word.
Help us seek You with all our heart; do
not let us wander from Your commandments.
Let us treasure Your Word in our heart,
that we may not sin against You.
Blessed are You, O LORD, teach us Your statutes.
With our lips, let us tell of all the ordinances of Your mouth.
May we rejoice in the way of Your testimonies
as much as in all riches.
We will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways!
We shall delight in Your statutes!
We shall not forget Your Word!
In Your name, Jesus~”
