Please read Joshua 19.

Meditate on verse 1.
Then the second lot fell to Simeon, to the tribe
of the sons of Simeon according to their families,
and their inheritance was in the midst
of the inheritance of the sons of Judah.
Does it seem odd that of all the tribes of Israel, Simeon was given a land inheritance in the middle of Judah’s land? Their inheritance was merely pieces of Judah’s land because of prophecies made over 400 years earlier.
Simeon and Levi are brothers; their swords are
implements of violence. Let my soul not enter
into their council; let not my glory be united
with their assembly; because in their anger
they slew men, and in their self-will, they lamed oxen.
Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; and their
wrath, for it is cruel. I will disperse them
in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
—Genesis 49:5-7
The sons of Simeon did not receive their own section of land because their forefathers had anger issues. Let that soak in for a moment. An entire people group missed out on significant blessings from God because of their violent, self-willed, angry great-great…great-grandfathers.
“Oh, LORD, keep me from sinning, so my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren do not miss out on Your blessings!”
Pray for God not to have to do Joshua 19:9 to you and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, do let the inheritance of __________ and
me be taken from the portion of someone else because
You curse our anger, self-will, and wrath. Let our
inheritance be in the midst of Your blessings
as we quickly repent and obey You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
