1 Chronicles 2 - Praying God's Word

Please read 1 Chronicles 2.

Meditate on verses 3b and 7.

And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the

sight of the LORD, so He put him to death.

The son of Carmi was Achar, the troubler

of Israel, who violated the ban.

Just when you might be tempted to skip a chapter of God’s Word, you discover a couple of treasure verses to keep in your arsenal of prayers for your loved ones.  Next to 1 Chronicles 2:3 in your Bible, consider writing something like: “LORD, do not let my family be wicked in Your sight!”  Write out family members’ names in the margin.  Next to verse 7 write a note to God asking Him to keep your family free from troublers by making you faithful followers of Him.

As you continue to read God’s Word, take it personally, for it is certainly more than a history book; it is the Living Word that wants to penetrate your life and the lives of those you love.

Pray 1 Chronicles 2:3b and 7 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“O, LORD, do not let ____________ and me

be wicked in Your sight.  Put to

death any wickedness in us.  Do not

let us be troublers of others, who

violate what You have banned.

Keep troublers from our midst.

In Your name, Jesus~”
