Ezekiel 44 - Praying God's Word

Please read Ezekiel 44.

Meditate on verses 6 and 23.

“You shall say to the rebellious ones, to the
house of Israel, ‘Thus says the LORD God, “Enough
of all your abominations, O house of Israel.”’
Moreover, they (the priests) shall teach My people
the difference between the holy and the profane,
and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.”

The LORD does not take lightly the role of priest. In the past, many of the priests caused the Israelites to stumble in iniquity and idolatry (vs. 10, 12). The Babylonian exile and destruction of the temple and Jerusalem were God’s punishment for nearly a millennium of rebellion against Him.
A time is coming when Israel’s priests will minister before the LORD    in proper holiness. As you wait to see the fulfillment of this final vision  of Ezekiel, keep in mind that God already has a kingdom of priests ministering in His name. His priests are you and other Christians!

But you are a chosen race, a royal
 priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for God’s own possession, so that
 you may proclaim the excellencies
of Him who has called you out of
darkness into His marvelous light.
—1 Peter 2:9

Let that truth soak in and ask the LORD to make you His faithful priest.  Start your prayers with the words from Ezekiel 44:23.

“LORD, as Your priest, help me teach Your people
the difference between the holy and the profane,
causing them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
In Your name, Jesus~”
