Meditate on verses 1-2a.
The Word of the LORD came again to me saying,
“Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the LORD God.’”
By now you may have noticed the repeated phrases “the Word of the LORD,” “thus says the LORD God,” and “I am the LORD” in Ezekiel. “The Word of the LORD” is used at least 60 times, “thus says the LORD God” over 125 times, and “I am the LORD” is found over 65 times within this amazing book of prophecy. God wanted there to be no doubt from where these words came. These are the very Words of God spoken to people who desperately needed to know who He is. Thankfully, God’s Words were recorded for all of eternity, so you can touch them with your hands, see them with your eyes, hear them with your ears, meditate on them with your mind, speak them with your mouth, and let them saturate every fiber of your being. Every page of your Bible screams, “Thus says the LORD, ‘This is the Word of the LORD declaring I AM the LORD!’”
What is your response to such a declaration? Use the words from Ezekiel 30:1-3 and 26 in prayer and total commitment to the LORD and His Word as His faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, Your Word has come to me
saying: 'Thus says the Lord GOD,
"Wail, 'Alas for the day!'” ‘For the day is near, even
the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of
clouds, a time of doom for the nations.’
LORD, help me tell others Your Words, so
they will know that You are the LORD
before it is too late.
In Your name, LORD Jesus~”
