John 9 - Praying God's Word

Please read John 9.

Meditate on verse 5.  Jesus is talking.

“While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.”

This verse may be disconcerting. If Jesus was the Light of the world while He was on earth, what happened to that Light when He ascended to the Father? Where is the Light?
Ponder these truths; Jesus is talking to his disciples, to those who follow Him:

“You are the light of the world.
Let your light shine before men in such a way
that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
—Matthew 5:14a, 16

If you are a Christian, a follower of the LORD Jesus Christ, then Christ is in you, and His light is still in the world because you are in the world. As you ponder the humbling and awesome fact that Jesus calls you the light of the world, purpose to live every moment so others will want to be in the Light and become followers of Him, too.
Pray John 9:5-7 and 37-38 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are the Light of the world!
Please touch the blind spiritual eyes
of ___________ , so they can see You.
Jesus, thank You that I can see You and talk with You.
LORD, I believe and worship You!
Please let _______ do the same.
Because You are the Light, Jesus~”
