John 6 - Praying God's Word

Please read John 6.

Meditate on verse 53.

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood,
you have no life in yourselves.”

John 6 contains the very familiar story of Jesus feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and it contains the very hard teaching of Jesus that says, “Unless you eat and drink the LORD Jesus Christ, you have no life; unless you devour Jesus, you do not have eternal life” (vs. 53-69).
Jesus’ disciples were excited to do miracles in His name (Luke 10:1, 17), but the challenge of wholehearted commitment to the LORD caused many to abandon Him (v. 66).
What about you? Is Jesus Christ LORD (Almighty God and Master) of your life? Doing “church stuff” does not make you a Christian. Exchanging your life for the life of Christ makes you a Christian.
Reread John 6 and ask the Holy Spirit to give insight into understanding His Word. Being obedient to Jesus’ command to eat and drink Him is the most important decision you will ever make. Please do not hesitate to do so if you haven’t already.
Pray John 6:68-69 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, to whom shall I go?
You have the Words of eternal life!
I have believed and come to know that You are the Holy One of God.
LORD, please draw ________ to make the same confession.
In Your name, Jesus~”
