John 14 - Praying God's Word

For the next four days, you have the privilege of eavesdropping on the last conversation your Savior had with His disciples before His crucifixion.
Supper was finished; Judas Iscariot has left to do his demonic deed, and Jesus is about to take the most excruciating walk of His life. But first, He has things on His heart He needs His true disciples to know; He even has you on His mind as He speaks. Therefore, every word of John 14-17 is vitally important, worthy of being meditated on and memorized. Bask in these Words and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you as you read.

Please read John 14.

Meditate on verse 14.

If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

Jesus says He will do anything you ask of Him if you ask in His name. Asking in the name of Jesus means to ask in the authority of His Almighty Name, according to His interests, His pleasures, His commands, and His excellencies.
Think about your prayers and what you ask of the Father in the name of Jesus. Are your requests in line with what interests Jesus and what brings Him pleasure? Do you desire what He commands in His Word and what reveals His excellent nature? “In the name of Jesus” should be said in great fear and reverence of God, desiring to ask only what is in His will and for His glory, being careful not to use His precious name in vain.
Pray John 14:26 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“Father, thank You for sending the Helper,
the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
Holy Spirit, teach ________ and me all things
and bring to our remembrance all that Jesus said to us.
In the name of Jesus~”
