Meditate on verse 30.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3 is packed with truth to meditate on for a lifetime. You may have memorized some of these truths as a young child, like John 3:16.
In light of current events and popular worldly teaching, other truths from this chapter may become richer and richer for you. For example, if a person does not believe in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, he has already been judged (v. 18). Those whose deeds are evil love the darkness and hate the Light—Jesus Christ (vs. 19-20). Practicing the truth is evidence of coming to Jesus, the Light (v. 21). Obeying Jesus proves that a person believes in Him (v. 36). Those who refuse to obey will not see life but will abide in the wrath of God (v. 36).
Let Christ and His Word increase more and more in you (v. 30). Jesus gives His Spirit without measure to those who believe in Him as the source of eternal life (vs. 34, 36). Let the Holy Spirit and the Word of Christ control you today.
Pray John 3:21 and 30 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, help ________ and me practice the truth.
We come to You, the Light;
let our deeds be manifested as having been wrought in God.
Christ, You must increase, but we must decrease.
For Your name’s sake, Jesus~”
