Matthew 25 - Praying God's Word

Please read Matthew 25.

Meditate on verse 6.

But at midnight there was a shout, “Behold, the

bridegroom! Come out to meet him.”

Here is a command you do not want to miss, and you certainly want to be able to obey it.

“Come out to meet the bridegroom!”

What a glorious day that will be for Christians!  Dressed in robes of righteousness, lamps filled with oil, fully lit, and brilliantly shining for Jesus, we will meet our bridegroom, our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ—Glory!

Thankfully, Matthew recorded much of Jesus’ teaching about these last days before His return to earth.  In a few days, you will begin reading and praying Daniel and Revelation, which will make you even more prepared for the days to come.  Pray with urgency for those you know who are like the foolish in Matthew 25, who have no oil in their lamps, those who need Jesus.

Pray Matthew 25:6, 13, 21, and 34 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let __________ and me be ready for the shout:

‘Behold, the bridegroom!  Come out to meet Him!’

Keep us on the alert, for we do not know the day nor the hour.

When You come, let us hear You say, ‘Well done, good and

faithful slave.  You were faithful with a few things; I will put

you in charge of many things.  Enter into the joy of your Master.’

King Jesus, we look forward to the day we hear Your command:

‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom

prepared for you from the foundation of the world.’

Bless __________ to hear that command.

Save them, in Your name, Jesus~”
