Meditate on verses 12-14.
Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the
LORD delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel,
and he said in the sight of Israel, "O sun, stand still at
Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon."
So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the
nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not
written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in
the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down
for about a whole day. There was no day like that
before it or after it, when the LORD listened to the voice
of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
What an amazing chapter in Israel’s history! God fought for the Israelites because Joshua obeyed Him, confidently trusting Him to do the impossible on behalf of His people.
There are situations in your life where you need God to do the impossible for the sake of those you love. There are people who need to be saved, people who need healing, people facing incredibly difficult situations. Ask the LORD to reveal unconfessed sin in your life. Repent, desiring to be faithful and pleasing to Him. Then, pray for God to do the impossible for yourself and those you love.
Pray Joshua 10:14 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, let this be a day like no other when You
listen to my voice and fight for ___________ and me.
In Your name, Jesus~”
