Matthew 13 - Praying God's Word

Please read Matthew 13.

Meditate on verse 9.

He who has ears, let him hear.

This is the second time Jesus commands those with ears to listen up (Matthew 11:15).  And, in this chapter, He uses the word ‘hear’ sixteen times.  Listening to Jesus, comprehending what He says, and obeying what He says is a big deal!

Pray Matthew 13:9, 13-23, and 43 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, __________ and I have ears, let us hear!

We want to see, hear, and understand

what You speak, even the parables.

LORD, do not let us be the fulfillment

of Isaiah’s prophecy.

Let us keep on hearing and understand.

Let us keep on seeing and perceive.

Do not let our hearts become dull nor our

ears scarcely hear.  Do not let us close our eyes.

Let us see with our eyes, hear with our ears, understand

with our heart and return, so You will heal us.

Let our eyes and ears be blessed because we

see and hear.  Thank You, Jesus, we get to see

and hear things prophets and righteous men

desired to see and hear.  Help us hear the parable of

the sower.  When we hear the Word of the kingdom,

help us understand it.  Do not let the evil one come

and snatch away what has been sown in our heart.

Let us hear and immediately receive the Word with joy.

Let it take firm root in us, so when affliction or persecution

arises because of the Word, we do not fall away.

When we hear the Word, do not let the worry of

the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the

Word, so it becomes unfruitful.  Let us hear the Word

and understand it.  Let us indeed bear fruit and bring

forth a hundredfold.  Make us the righteous who

shine forth as the sun in Your kingdom, Father.

We have ears; let us hear!

In Your name, Jesus~”
