Matthew 24 - Praying God's Word

Please read Matthew 24.

Meditate on Jesus’ commands in verses 4, 6, 20, 26, 33, and 44.

And Jesus answered and said to them,

"See to it that no one misleads you.

You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars.

See that you are not frightened, for those things

must take place, but that is not yet the end.

But pray that your flight will not be in the

winter or on a Sabbath. So, if they say to you, 'Behold, He

is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in

the inner rooms,' do not believe them.

So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize

that He is near, right at the door.

For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man

is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.”

Wow!  There are a lot of commands to obey in connection with Christ’s return:

·      Do not be misled.

·      Do not be frightened.

·      Pray.

·      Do not go out and believe false prophets.

·      Recognize Jesus is right at the door.

·      Be ready!

God’s Word has a lot to say about His return.  This chapter is a treasure chest of those truths.  Ask God to give you His insight for what is taking place in this chapter.  Then, pray Matthew 24:4, 6, 44, and 46 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not let ________ and me be misled.

Do not let us be frightened when

we hear of wars and rumors of wars, for

these things must take place.  Make us

ready for Your coming, Son of Man.  Make us

Your slaves whom You find so doing when You come.

Because You are our Master, Jesus~”
