Proverbs 24 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 24.

Meditate on verses 3-4.

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;
and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Pray Proverbs 24 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not let ______ and me be envious of evil
men nor desire to be with them, for their minds
 devise violence and their lips talk of trouble.
  Let our house be built by Your wisdom, and
 by Your understanding, let it be established.
 By Your knowledge, let the rooms be filled
 with all precious and pleasant riches.
Make us wise and strong; make us people
 of knowledge who increase in power.
 Let us wage war with Your wise guidance
 and give us victory through an abundance of counselors.
 Do not let fools open their mouths in the gates.
 Do not let us scheme evil plans or devise folly, which is sin.
Keep us from scoffers who are an abomination to men.
 Do not let us be slack in the day of distress
 so that our strength is limited.
 LORD, deliver those who are being taken away to death
 and those who are staggering to slaughter;
 oh, hold back those who destroy!
 LORD, do not let us say, ‘See, we did not know this,’
 for You consider what we say and weigh our hearts.
You know what we say and keep our souls.
You will render to each man according to his works.
 Let our children eat good honey from the comb
 that is sweet to the taste and is wisdom for their souls;
 let them find Your wisdom so they will have
 a future and their hope will not be cut off.
 Keep us righteous and do not let a wicked man
 lie in wait against our dwelling nor destroy our resting place.
 Keep us righteous, so even if we fall seven times, we
will rise again, for the wicked stumble in time of calamity.
 Do not let us rejoice when our enemy falls,
 and do not let our heart be glad when he stumbles,
or You, LORD, will see it and be displeased
 and turn Your anger away from him.
 Do not let us fret because of evildoers or
 be envious of the wicked, for there is no future
for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
Let our children fear You and the king;
do not let them associate with those who are given
 to change; keep them from sudden calamity and ruin.
  Do not let us show partiality in judgment.
 Do not let us call the wicked, ‘righteous,’ because people
will curse him; nations will abhor him.
Help us to rebuke the wicked; let delight
 and good blessing come upon us when we do.
 Let our right answer be a kiss on the lips.
 Let us build our house after we prepare
 our work outside and make it ready in the field.
 Do not let us be a witness against our neighbor
 without cause, and do not let us deceive with our lips.
 Do not let us say, ‘Thus I shall do to him as he has done
 to me; I will render to the man according to his work.’
  Do not let us be sluggards and people lacking sense;
do not let our fields and vineyards be completely
 overgrown with thistles, covered with nettles, and
 our walls broken down.  When we see the field of a sluggard,
 let us reflect upon it; let us look and receive instruction,
for a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,
 then poverty will come as a robber and
want like an armed man.  Keep us diligent.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
