Meditate on verse 14.
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,
to turn aside from the snares of death.
Pray Proverbs 13 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, make _________ and me wise, accepting discipline.
Do not let us be scoffers who will not listen to rebuke.
Let us enjoy good from the fruit of our mouths.
Help us to guard our mouths, so we preserve our lives,
for the one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Make us diligent souls. Keep us righteous;
may we hate falsehood.
Do not let us be wicked people
who act disgustingly and shamefully.
Let Your righteousness guard our way, making it blameless.
Let us rejoice in righteousness.
Make us wise and willing to receive counsel.
Increase our wealth as we labor.
Please fulfill our righteous desires.
Let us never despise Your Word; rather let us fear
Your commandments and receive Your reward.
Make us wise; let our teaching be a fountain of life,
turning others aside from the snares of death.
Give us good understanding that produces favor;
keep us from the hard way of the treacherous.
Make us prudent, acting with knowledge;
do not let us be a fool displaying folly.
Make us faithful envoys who brings healing.
Poverty and shame comes to those who neglect discipline;
may we be honored as we regard reproof.
Let our desire realized be sweet to our souls.
May we walk with wise people who make us wise.
Adversity pursues sinners, so please keep us
righteous and reward us with prosperity.
Make us good and let us leave an inheritance to our children’s children.
Let us love our children and discipline them diligently.
LORD, make us righteous and satisfy our appetite.
With Your righteousness, Jesus~”
