Meditate on verse 9.

The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

Pray Proverbs 16 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, as ___________ and I make plans in our hearts,
we know the answer of the tongue is from You.
Weigh our motives and make our way clean in Your sight.
As we commit our works to You, LORD, please establish our plans.
LORD, use us for Your purposes.
Do not let us be proud in heart, for that is
an abomination to You and will be punished.
 By lovingkindness and truth, iniquity is atoned for;
 let us always fear You, LORD; keep us away from evil.
 Make our ways pleasing to You;
 make even our enemies be at peace with us.
 Keep us content with a little with righteousness,
 so we will not desire great income with injustice.
 As we plan our way, direct all of our steps, LORD.
 Let divine decisions be on our leaders’ lips;
 do not let them err in judgment.
Do not let them commit wicked acts; establish them
 in righteousness; keep them from abomination.
 Give our leaders righteous lips;
 may they be loved as they speak what is right.
Give us the favor of our leaders and not their fury;
 let us be wise with them.
  LORD, to get Your wisdom is better than gold!
 And Your understanding is to be chosen above silver.
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil;
let us watch our way and preserve our lives.
 LORD, free us from pride and a haughty spirit;
 keep us from destruction and stumbling.
 Let us be humble in spirit with the lowly,
 rather than divide the spoil with the proud.
 Let us give attention to Your Word and find good;
 bless us as we trust in You!
 Make us wise in heart; give us understanding;
 let our speech be sweet, and increase our persuasiveness.
 Let understanding be a fountain of life to us.
Give us wise hearts that instruct our mouths
 and add persuasiveness to our lips.
  Let us speak pleasant words that are
sweet to the soul and bring healing to the bones.
LORD, do not let us be worthless, perverse, slanderous, violent people!
 Let us grow gray with the crown of glory on Your way of righteousness.
 Let us be slow to anger and help us rule our spirits.
Let us accept every decision that comes from You, LORD.
In Your name, Jesus~”
