Meditate on verse 10.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous runs into it and is safe.
Pray Proverbs 18 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, do not let _______ and me seek our own desires
and separate ourselves from others.
Do not let us quarrel against sound wisdom.
Do not let us be fools who do not delight in understanding,
but only in revealing our own minds.
Let our mouths be a fountain of wisdom, a bubbling brook.
Let us not show partiality to the wicked,
nor thrust aside the righteous in judgment.
Let us not have fool’s lips that bring strife;
do not let our mouths call for blows.
Do not let our mouths be our ruin
and our lips the snare of our souls.
Let us not be slack in our work.
LORD, Your name is a strong tower; make us righteous;
we will run into You and be safe.
Do not let our hearts be haughty; keep us from destruction.
Keep us humble, for humility goes before honor.
Help us to listen before we give an answer,
so our answer is not folly and shame to us.
Do not let our spirits be broken.
Give us prudent minds that acquire knowledge
and make us wise with ears that seek knowledge.
LORD, gift us for going where and to whom You desire to send us.
Let Your decisions put an end to strife.
LORD, keep us from offending our brother; free us from contentions.
Let the fruit of our mouths be satisfying.
Death and life are in the power of the lips —may our lips speak life!
Let _______ find a good wife and obtain favor from You, LORD.
If You allow us to be rich, do not let us answer others roughly.
LORD, give us a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
In Your name, Jesus~”
