1 Timothy 3 - Praying God's Word

Please read 1 Timothy 3.

Meditate on verse 15.

But in case I am delayed, I write

so that you will know how

one ought to conduct himself in

the household of God, which is

the church of the living God, the

pillar and support of the truth.

The meditation verse contains the definition of church.  The church belongs to the living God and is His household, the pillar and support of the truth (v. 15).  Does your church fit that description?  Do the people take a stand for the truth of God’s Word, or do they capitulate to worldly ideology?  Pray for your church to be a pillar of truth and for every individual to possess the 25 Godly characteristics listed in this chapter.

Pray 1 Timothy 3:2-11 and 15 over yourself and your church as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let every member of Your church be:

above reproach, faithful to one spouse, temperate,

prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, gentle,

peaceable, free from the love of money, able to

manage their own household well, able to keep

their children under control with dignity, able

to take care of the church of God, not conceited,

not falling into the condemnation of the devil,

of good reputation outside of church, not falling

into reproach and the snare of the devil, dignified,

not double-tongued, not fond of sordid gain,

holding to the mystery of the faith with a

clear conscience, not malicious gossips, faithful

in all things.  God, let us know how to conduct

ourselves in Your household, which is the church

of the living God.  Let us be the pillar

 and support of the truth.

For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
