Meditate on verse 7.
In that night God appeared to Solomon and
said to him, "Ask what I shall give you."
Amazingly, Almighty God, Ruler of All, said to an earthly king, “Ask Me for what I will give you.” Incredibly, He says the same thing to you:
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will
find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
—Matthew 7:7
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask
whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
—John 15:7
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if
we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
—1 John 5:14
Observe in these verses a relationship with God is required in order to make this kind of request. “LORD, what will You give me? That is what I seek. Your Word says…. That is what I wish You to do for me. LORD, Your will to be done. Please hear my prayer.”
With confident humility, pray 2 Chronicles 1:1, 8, and 10 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, please establish ____________ and me securely
over the kingdoms and ministries You give us.
LORD, be with us and exalt us greatly.
Deal with us with great lovingkindness.
Give us wisdom and knowledge that
we may go out and come in before
the people You place in our care.
For the sake of Your Kingdom, Jesus~”
