1 Chronicles 23 - Praying God's Word

Please read 1 Chronicles 23.

Meditate on verse 32.

Thus, they are to keep charge of the tent of meeting,

and charge of the holy place, and

charge of the sons of Aaron their relatives,

for the service of the house of the LORD.

As New Testament believers, whom Jesus made priests to His God and Father (Revelation 1:5-6), it is important to pay close attention to Old Testament instructions to the Levites because in the eyes of God, that is who you are.  You are set apart and sanctified as most holy to minister to God and bless in His name forever (v. 13; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Colossians 3:12).  You are called to thank and praise the LORD day and night (v. 30; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).  You are to continually offer a sacrifice of praise before the LORD (v. 31; Hebrews 13:15).  You are called to keep charge—guard and protect as a watchman and a sentry—Christ’s church (v. 32; Acts 20:28).

Pray 1 Chronicles 23:13, 30, and 32 to be faithful to God’s Levitical call over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, set _________ and me apart to sanctify us as

most holy forever, to minister to You and to bless

in Your name forever.  Let us stand every morning

to thank and praise You, LORD, and likewise at evening.

Let us keep charge of the holy place for

the service of Your church, LORD.

In Your name, Jesus~”
