Romans 9 - Praying God's Word

Please read Romans 9.

Meditate on verses 30-32a.

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did
 not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness,
 even the righteousness which is by faith;
but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness,
did not arrive at that law.
Why? Because they did not pursue it by
 faith, but as though it were by works.

It is important for understanding the Bible to know this truth: God is moved by faith in Him rather than actions without faith. Many go through religious rituals, but if those rituals are not based on faith in Jesus, then they have no value, now or in eternity.
Paul knew that Jews who kept the Law, trying to achieve righteousness would be extremely disappointed (vs. 32-33). Their self-effort and religious actions did not lead them to recognize and follow by faith the One who completed the Law, Jesus Christ. Paul desperately wanted his fellow Jews to see the Law through faith, and by faith, recognize Jesus as the Messiah, just as the Gentiles were recognizing Jesus and being made righteous through faith in Him (vs. 3-5, 24, 30).
There are people in your life whom you desperately want to recognize Jesus the Messiah and believe in Him for righteousness and salvation. Pray Romans 9:30 and 32-33 over them as their faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please let _________ attain Your
righteousness by faith. Do not let them pursue You by works
and stumble over You.  Let them believe in You, the Rock,
 so they will not be disappointed.
In Your name, Jesus ~”
