Hosea 3 - Praying God's Word

Please read Hosea 3.

Meditate on verse 1.

Then the LORD said to me, “Go again; love a woman
who is loved by her husband,
yet an adulteress, even as the
LORD loves the sons of Israel,
though they turn to other gods
 and love raisin cakes.”

God’s living sermon illustration took another twist when He commanded Hosea to buy back Gomer after she ran off to continue in adultery and ended up in slavery. Not only did God want Hosea to ransom her from her pathetic situation; He commanded Hosea to love her again. Unbelievable!
Yet, here is God’s story of salvation perfectly illustrated by an enslaved harlot and a man willing to pay all he had to save her.
Think about it. Before Christ, you were enslaved to sin, loving the world and its ways more than the God who created you. Jesus gave everything for you, dying to pay the price of redemption for an enslaved prostitute. Not only does Jesus buy you out of that slavery, He loves you more than His own life and wants to intimately and eternally walk with you. Amazing!
Pray Hosea 3:5 in thankful commitment to the LORD as His faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD my God, Jesus my King, I return and seek You.
I come trembling to You and Your goodness.
May __________ do the same before the last days.
Because of Your name, Jesus~”
