Hosea 2 - Praying God's Word

Please read Hosea 2.

Meditate on verse 1.

Say to your brothers, “Ammi,” and to your sisters, “Ruhamah.”

Ah, a name change! Ammi means “my people,1 and Ruhamah means “to be shown compassion.”2 God removed the Lo, which means “not or no,”3 from their names— “Not my people,” “No compassion” (Hosea 1:6, 9). He miraculously changed the names of these children of a harlot.
And, He miraculously does the same for you. Before becoming a Christian, some of your names were: “Child of wrath” and “Child of the devil” (Ephesians 2:3; 1 John 3:10). Because of God’s merciful salvation, some of your new names are: “Child of God,” “Child of Promise,” and “Child of Light” (John 1:12; Galatians 4:28; Ephesians 5:8).
As a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), pray Hosea 2:19-20 over those who need the merciful salvation of God in order to receive a name change.

“LORD, please betroth __________ to You forever; betroth them to You in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and compassion.
Betroth them to You in faithfulness, so they will know You, LORD.
Thank You for betrothing me to Yourself.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
