Psalm 102 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 102.

Meditate on verse18.

This will be written for the generation to come,
that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.

Many of the psalms have titles such as: A Psalm of David or A Psalm of Asaph. The title of this psalm is: A Prayer of the Afflicted When He is Faint and Pours out His Complaint Before the LORD. I love it! This is my psalm—and your psalm—and every person ever created—it is our psalm!
A Prayer of the Afflicted—we have all been “the afflicted.” We have all had days when we have felt so despised and reproached we could no longer speak. Thankfully, God gave the faint, afflicted soul words to cry out; then God had those precious words penned for eternity so our generation and the generations to come would have something to say to God on the days that are really, really tough.
So, we cry out to God because we have nowhere else to turn. And as we look to God, we see Him, and gradually our complaint becomes praise because He is eternal, and our children and the next generation will continue before Him (vs. 27-28). Praise the LORD!
Cry out to God with Psalm 102 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7). Verses 1-2, 12, and 27-28 are printed below:

 “Hear my prayer, O LORD!  And let my cry for help come to You.
 Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;
 incline Your ear to me.
In the day when I call, please answer me quickly.
You, O LORD, abide forever, and Your name to all generations.
You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.
The children of Your servants will continue,
and their descendants will be established before You.
Thank You, Jesus~”
