Jude 1 - Praying God's Word

Please read Jude 1.

Meditate on verse 1b.

To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father,
 and kept for Jesus Christ.

Did you know God calls you names?  Three of them are in the meditation verse:
called, beloved, and kept.

·      Called means invited, like to a banquet.  It also means invited by God to obtain eternal salvation in the Kingdom through Jesus Christ.  And, it means divinely selected and appointed.1
·      Beloved means to be fond of, to love dearly.2
·      Kept means to attend to carefully, take care of, to guard.3

Wow!  You are His called.  You are His beloved in God the Father.  And, you are His kept for Jesus Christ.  There is a lot in a name; ponder who you in Christ, thanking Him for the names He has given you.

Pray Jude 1:1-2 and 24-25 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, thank You for calling _________ and me ‘called,’ ‘beloved in God the Father,’
and ‘kept for Jesus Christ.’  Make us Your faithful bond-servants.
May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to us.
LORD, keep us from stumbling and make us stand
in the presence of Your glory, blameless with great joy.
To You, the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our LORD,
be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority,
before all time and now and forever.  Amen.”
