2 Peter 3 - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Peter 3.

Meditate on verses 11-12.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this
way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and
Godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of
the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed
by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

This is a sobering chapter describing the Day of LORD—the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly (vs. 7, 10). God promises the day is coming; therefore, how should you live today? Invest your life in what is eternal—people and God’s Word. Be diligent to share the Word of God with the people you love, so they will not be destroyed.
Pray 2 Peter 3:14-18 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, may _________ and I be diligent to be found by You in peace,
spotless and blameless, regarding Your patience as salvation.
LORD, in Your patience, please bring salvation to ______________.
Do not let us be the untaught and the unstable
who distort the Scriptures.  LORD, teach us and make us
stable in Your Word.  Keep us on our guard so that we are
not carried away by the error of unprincipled men
and fall from our own steadfastness.  Let us grow in the grace
and knowledge of You, our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.
To You be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity.  Amen.”
