Meditate on verse 1.
But as for you, speak things
which are fitting for sound doctrine.
Titus 2 contains over 30 Godly characteristics for believers and is a powerful chapter to pray over yourself and those you love. Consider memorizing and praying it every day.
Pray it now as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, as for _________ and me, let us speak things
fitting for sound doctrine. Make us temperate,
dignified, sensible, sound in faith, sound in love,
sound in perseverance. Let us be reverent in our behavior,
not malicious gossips, not enslaved to much wine;
let us teach what is good. Help us encourage young women
to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be sensible, pure, stayers-at-home, kind,
subject to their own husbands, so Your Word
will not be dishonored. LORD, make us sensible.
In all things, let us show ourselves to be an
example of good deeds with purity in doctrine,
dignified, sound in speech, which is beyond reproach,
so the opponent will be put to shame and
have nothing bad to say about us.
Master, as Your bondslaves, make us subject
to You in everything. Make us well-pleasing, not
argumentative, not pilfering, but showing
all good faith so that we will adorn Your doctrine,
God our Savior, in every respect.
For, Your grace has appeared to all people,
bringing salvation, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly
desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and Godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of Your glory,
our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.
You gave Yourself for us to redeem us from every
lawless deed and to purify for Yourself a people
for Your own possession, zealous for good deeds.
Let us speak these things and exhort
and reprove with all authority.
Let no one disregard us.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
