Meditate on verse 3.
For Mordecai the Jew was second only to
King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews
and in favor with his many kinsmen,
one who sought the good of his people
and one who spoke for the welfare of his whole nation.
Esther is such an amazing book! Although God’s name is not written in the book, His sovereign hand orchestrated every word of the story. Here are just a few of the things the LORD did for His people:
· God arranged for an unknown Jewish orphan to enter a competition to become queen of Persia (Esther 2:7-8).
· God caused Esther to be outstanding among all the women in the competition (Esther 2:9-15).
· God orchestrated the decreed timing and method for killing the Jews, so Mordecai and Esther had time to appeal to God and King Ahasuerus for a change of plans (Esther 3:12-5:3).
· God did not allow Haman to kill Mordecai immediately (Esther 5:10).
· God arranged the timing of Esther’s banquets to give King Ahasuerus a sleepless night and a bedtime story about Mordecai (Esther 5:8-6:2).
· God timed the delayed recognition of Mordecai to line-up perfectly with His salvation for the Jews (Esther 6:3-7:10).
Only God could weave together such an incredible story! Be encouraged that He is weaving an incredible story for you and your loved ones.
As a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), pray for God’s favor using Esther 10:3.
“LORD, let _________ and me be great among
Your people and in favor with them
for the purpose of seeking the good
of Your people and speaking for their welfare.
For the sake of Your Kingdom, LORD Jesus~”
