Nehemiah 10 - Praying God's Word

Please read Nehemiah 10.

Meditate on verses 28-29.

Now the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites,
the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants,
and all those who had separated themselves from the
peoples of the lands to the law of God, their wives,
their sons and their daughters, all those who had knowledge
and understanding, are joining with their kinsmen,
their nobles, and are taking on themselves a curse
and an oath to walk in God’s law, which was given
through Moses, God’s servant, and to keep and
to observe all the commandments of God our
LORD, and His ordinances and His statutes.

God’s Word not only caused the people to confess and worship, it caused them to desire holiness. They committed to walk in God’s ways and keep His commandments. The people wanted to change their lifestyle based on what the Word of God said.
How does the Bible affect you? As you read and hear it, let it cut out everything that displeases God, and let it mold and shape you into Christlikeness (Hebrews 4:12).
Pray Nehemiah 10:28-29 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let _________ and me separate ourselves
from the ways of the peoples of the lands to Your Law.
Give us knowledge and understanding to commit to
walk in Your Law, and to keep and to observe all Your
 commandments, God our LORD,
and Your ordinances and Your statutes.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
