Ecclesiastes 10 - Praying God's Word

Please read Ecclesiastes 10.

Meditate on verses 12-13.

Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious,
while the lips of a fool consume him;
 the beginning of his talking is folly,
 and the end of it is wicked madness.

With whom do you most relate from the meditation verses: the wise man or the fool?  Are the words of your mouth pleasant and gracious, or are they wicked and foolish?  Let God’s Words cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
 be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
—Psalm 19:14

Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not incline my heart to any evil thing.
—Psalm 14:3-4a

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand,
which he had taken from the altar with tongs.
He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips;
and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is forgiven.”
—Isaiah 6:6-7

Thank the LORD for His ability and willingness to forgive the sins of your lips.  Under His control, choose not to sin with your tongue (Psalm 39:1).

Pray Ecclesiastes 10:12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, make _______ and me wise people.
May the words of our mouths be gracious.
 Do not let us be fools with lips that consume us!
In Your name, Jesus~”
