1 Thessalonians 1 - Praying God's Word

Please read 1 Thessalonians 1.

Meditate on verse 5.

For our Gospel did not come to you in word only,
but also in power and in the Holy
 Spirit and with full conviction;
just as you know what kind of men we
 proved to be among you for your sake.

Paul risked his life to share the Gospel in Thessalonica because he was fully convicted about its truth (Acts 17:1-10).  Many believed, and after Paul left, he wrote this letter to encourage those Christians who lived among people who hated Jesus and His Gospel.

You still live in a world of tribulation for those who follow Christ (v. 6).  Read this letter as if it were written personally to you, for the LORD certainly had you on His mind when He had Paul pen these words.  Be encouraged in your walk with Jesus to imitate Him and be an example to others (vs. 6-7).  Let the Word of God sound forth from you so others can hear about Jesus (v. 8).

Pray 1 Thessalonians 1:1-4 over those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let Your grace and peace come to __________.
God, I thank You always for them.
 Thank You for their work of faith, labor of love,
 and steadfastness of hope in You, our LORD Jesus Christ.
 Thank You for choosing them to be beloved by You.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
