1 Thessalonians 2 - Praying God's Word

Please read 1 Thessalonians 2.

Meditate on verse 8.

Having so fond an affection for you, we were
well-pleased to impart to you not only the Gospel of God
but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.

This is a great chapter for how to share the Gospel.  As you learn from the verses, pray them over yourself:

·      “God, give me boldness in You to share the Gospel even amid much opposition” (v. 2).
·      “Make me approved by You, God, to be entrusted with the Gospel.  Let me speak to please You and not men” (v. 4).
·      “Do not let me share the Gospel with flattering speech or for the glory of men” (vs. 5-6).
·      “Let me be gentle in sharing the Gospel with others, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children” (v. 7).
·      “Give me a fond affection for others, so I will share not only the Gospel but also my life with them” (v. 8).
·      “Help me behave devoutly, uprightly, and blamelessly toward others” (v. 10).
·      “Let me exhort, encourage, and implore new believers as a father would his own children” (v. 11).

Now pray 1 Thessalonians 2:12-13 over those with whom you are sharing the Gospel, as their faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please call _________ into Your Kingdom and glory.
Let them walk in a manner worthy of You.
Let them receive Your Word as the
Word of God, not the word of men.
Let Your Word perform its work in them who believe.
For the glory of Your name, Jesus~”
