2 Chronicles 32 - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Chronicles 32.

Meditate on verses 1a, 2, and 5a.

After these acts of faithfulness, Sennacherib

king of Assyria came and invaded Judah.

Now when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had

come and that he intended to make war on

Jerusalem, he took courage and rebuilt all the

wall that had been broken down.

After celebrating the Passover and removing the idols throughout the land, the enemy attacked King Hezekiah and his people.  Thankfully Hezekiah didn’t retreat, feeling sorry for himself or mad at God for allowing the attack.  Instead, he rebuilt the 600 feet of wall that had been torn down 75 years earlier, and he strengthened himself and his people for battle (2 Chronicles 25:23; 32:5).

Do not believe the false teaching that faithfulness to God means an easy life.  God’s Word promises the testing of our faith for the purpose of building endurance (James 1:2-4).

2 Chronicles 32 teaches us how to handle these times of testing:

·      Shore up areas of spiritual weakness (vs. 5-6).

·      Trust in the LORD to help you and to fight your battles (vs. 7-8).

·      Pray and cry to God when you are bullied, threatened, and taunted by the enemy.  God will deal with your enemies (vs. 9-21).

·      When God gives you victory, give Him the glory, taking no credit for yourself.  Humble the pride of your heart (vs. 23-26).

Pray 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help _______ and me be strong and courageous.

Do not let us fear or be dismayed because of _____________

and the horde that is with him, for the One

with us is greater than the one with him.

With him is only an arm of flesh, but

with us is You, LORD our God, to help

us and to fight our battles.

Thank You, in Your name, Jesus~”
