2 Thessalonians 3 - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Thessalonians 3.

Meditate on verse 1.

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the Word of the LORD

will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you.

With the day of the LORD on Paul’s mind, and on the minds of his readers, he knew it was crucial for God’s Word to spread rapidly, bringing salvation to those who would hear and receive it.  Paul wrote this letter 2,000 years ago; just imagine how much closer the day of the LORD is to those of us reading it today.  “LORD, let Your Word spread rapidly and be glorified in the lives of people before it is too late!”

It is no accident God wanted the prayer devotionals for Daniel, Joel, Amos, Zephaniah, Malachi, Matthew, 1&2 Thessalonians, 1&2 Timothy, 1&2 Peter, and Revelation written for The Watchman on the Wall, Volume 4.  They all speak about the day of the LORD.  (We did not make this connection until we started writing this fourth volume.)  Our world is in the labor pains of Christ’s return.  Recognize the signs, share the Gospel, and pray with fervency as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

Pray 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 over those you love.

“LORD, let Your Word spread rapidly and be glorified!

Please rescue _________ and me from perverse and evil

men for not all have faith.  But, LORD, You are

faithful, and You will strengthen and

protect us from the evil one.

In Your name, Jesus~”
