This fourth volume of The Watchman on the Wall began with Psalm 118:24:
This is the day which the LORD has
made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Then continued with 1 & 2 Thessalonians, encouraging you to be on the lookout for references to the Day of the LORD and Christ’s return. Perhaps you gained insight into the LORD’s return as you read and prayed Matthew, Thessalonians, and Acts. From now until December 31, the remainder of the devotionals will come from books of the Bible that specifically refer to the return of Christ and the Day of the LORD. The LORD has much to show us, so lift your head and fix your eyes on Jesus, for your redemption is drawing near (Hebrews 12:2; Luke 21:28). This will be an amazing 100-day journey!
Please read Psalm 2.

Meditate on verses 11-12.
Worship the LORD with reverence and
rejoice with trembling. Do homage to
the Son, that He not become angry, and
you perish in the way, for His wrath
may soon be kindled. How blessed
are all who take refuge in Him!
Psalm 2 is a Messianic psalm. In fact, Jesus is speaking in verse 7:
“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son;
today I have begotten You.’”
Notice the references to Christ: Anointed (v. 2), King (v. 6), and Son (vs. 7, 12). Observe the contrasts between the kings of the earth and the LORD’s King. The LORD laughs and scoffs at earthly kings plotting against Him (vs. 1-4).
Take comfort from this psalm. The world around you may be in an uproar, and the earthly kings and rulers may think they are in charge, but God has already enthroned King Jesus on His holy mountain (v. 6).
Use Psalm 2:10-12 to pray and worship the LORD as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, let _______ and me show discernment
and pay attention to Your warning.
We worship You with reverence and rejoice
with trembling. We give homage to
You, Jesus. We do not want You to become
angry with us. Do not let us perish in the
way of Your wrath that will soon be kindled.
Bless us as we take refuge in You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
